Another from this morning at Walton, taken about 20 minutes after the other two. I know what you're thinking - is that the same tree? No, it's not, it is actually a completely different dead tree, although admittedly it's hard to tell the difference ;-)

I like how the water is behaving in this one - this part of Walton is mainly a thin layer of sand over clay, and here the clay is exposed, causing all sorts of ripples and backwashes to appear in the wave.

ok...so..from the 3...ill pick this one..the colours...sharpness...and contrast are just perfect..the borders are great aswell..the only thing that i would change...was the fact of the sun is out from the thirds rule! crop it a bit from the right side..and make the sun coincident with the first upper right side third...and it would be perfect! good luck on the competition!
overall: 19.5/20!

Thanks for commenting. If I crop it I'd lose the lead in from the clouds top right & the wave/shore coming in bottom right - personally I'd prefer to keep both and put up with the sun off the third, personal opinion though!

to have the lead in from the clouds...then the log in main sight is way too distracting, with such a powerfull element right in front..all the rest that u try focusing will get 2nd sighted, even the fact of the wave..even if u crop a bit, ull still see a bit of the second wave, even so, u dont need to crop a lot...just a little bit to push the sun a tiny bit closer to the third...try cropping slowly until u can try and fit all elements you want and keep the sun close to the third...i believe u can crop it enough and keep all those elements you want.

I shall have a play around with it, but I'm pretty sure I originally tried that & didn't feel it worked as well. Shall give it another go though!

This shot is really something. I love that you chose to not use a long exposure. It makes this so much more interesting looking at the details in the water. Incredible.
